Where's the Map? is a must-have for everyone who wants to live a happy and fulfilling life, which we all do!  Beth and Jim not only live what they teach, but they have organized the information in such a way that it makes sense for everyone, no matter if you are a recent college grad or someone who realized your map flew out the window mid-trip or you forgot to get one in the first place!  Living by your values is so basic, yet somehow so difficult to conceptualize without a guide to help.  This guide will help you create the map of the life you want and help you avoid the pitfalls of living outside of what you believe.  I highly recommend this book for everyone— your happiness and journey depend on it!"

Ten Reasons to Create a Life Vision

Is it clear to you what your life is about? Sometimes it feels a little fuzzy, doesn’t it? We have found that writing out your life vision helps you clarify what your main purpose or mission is, and how you want to accomplish it. As far as we’re concerned, nothing is more worth your time than dreaming up and writing down your vision. Not convinced? Here are 10 rock-solid reasons to create a life vision:

1.To give you focus. Sometimes it seems there are so many things to pay attention to that you may get a little overwhelmed. A life vision is a clear, succinct statement that helps you focus on what is most important.

2. To give you a way to share your dreams with the people you care about. It helps you communicate clearly to others what you are about.

3. To inspire other people. Have you ever talked to someone who told you about his or her dreams with such enthusiasm that it inspired you? Doesn’t it seem worth it to share this with someone else? Talk to friends about your vision, post it on our website. You can even make a t-shirt of it.

4. To get people to stop nagging you. A life vision commands authority. It’s not just the idea of the month. It represents your purpose here on Earth and gets more respect than other ideas. When you tell someone, “This is my life vision” they will usually stop questioning your motive and your decision to pursue a particular path, and come more fully on board with what you're doing.

5. To save you time, energy, and money. Your life vision will be a guiding force for many of your future decisions. If you know that the career of your dreams does not require a four-year college degree, or if you aren’t exactly sure what you want to do just yet, don’t jump into the higher education game just because… Waiting until you have clarified your vision and are ready for school, or getting the training necessary for what you know you want to do, will end up saving years of your life and a fortune in tuition expenses.

6. To give you a sense of purpose and direction. A life vision gives you a reason to wake up in the morning.

7. When you follow your passion the money will follow. We’ve heard many great teachers share this message, and we’ve found it to be true for us as well. When you find a vision that really keeps you going, it seems that infinite opportunities open for you. Give it a try.

8. To improve your health and overall well-being. Research shows that a sense of purpose decreases stress levels, depression and suicide rates.

9. Gives you a sense of perspective. Looking at something in the light of your life vision makes it easier to not get caught up in the little things that annoy you and eat up a lot of your time and energy.

10. Makes life more fun! A vision keeps you jazzed. It’s the kind of thing that you can be engaged in for hours without feeling like you are working. The hours just seem to fly by.

Everyone is entitled to live a satisfying and fulfilling life. A life vision is one step you can take toward creating the life of your dreams.
