About Beth and Jim Hood

At age 26, Beth and Jim Hood realized that they – and most of their friends – were struggling to figure out “What do I want to do with the rest of my life?” They left Seattle, their jobs and all of their possessions to go on sabbatical for six months in search of an answer. Using their educational backgrounds, personal experience and knowledge gleaned from years working with high school and college students, Beth and Jim developed a system of exercises that help map out a future of success, enjoyment and inspiration.
Beth and Jim are speakers, coaches, and award-winning authors of “Where’s the Map? Create Your OWN Guide to Life After Graduation”, an interactive guidebook for high school, college students and grads to figure out who they are and what their next step is after graduation. The Hoods co-host a web-based radio show for twenty-somethings and their parents called Road Map to the Real World which can be found at www.RoadMapToTheRealWorld.com.
They are founders of www.WheresTheMap.com as well as the Gap Year Scholarship Program, which offers scholarships to young adults who wish to take a gap year before, during or after college. Beth also writes a monthly advice column as “The GPS Gal” on Girlzone.com.
The Hoods live on the Big Island of Hawaii and own an independent publishing company called Inspiration Publications. Their primary mission is to inspire and to empower other young people to uncover and follow their unique life path.
